"A library is a comforting retreat from a frenetic world"

"Libraries are the new must-have for the rich and famous"

The Times, 28 September 2007.

Well, I'm neither rich nor famous, but oh, do I love my library!   If only the heating worked in there, I'd be close to installing a camp bed and moving in permanently.  There will be Stern Words with the plumber on Monday.

Does anyone wonder, like I do, how many of these "rich and famous" folks actually read the books in their library? I would be willing to bet that it's really something less than 50% of them.

While I cringe with jealousy at reading that article, I do hold out a tiny bit of hope that someone might actually read and that at least, if even in the most obnoxious, materialistic way, someone still values books.
But then, maybe I'll just a sick optimist.

For booklovers, a library is a haven! It doesn't really matter if you're reach or not to have that joy of reading. Most rich and famous are just busy around coping up with the buzz they create with their lifestyle... and so maybe a library may also serve as their breathing space around the house.
